LKA is excited to announce the hire of two new team members: Thuong Nguyen and Riley Smith.
Thuong joins LKA in the role of Production and Process Coordinator. She joins LKA with a wealth of digital media and marketing expertise from both the nonprofit and corporate sectors, most recently in a role as a Data Analyst. Thuong excels in breaking down the data to tell the story of what it means, to both internal and external stakeholders.
Thuong was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and, like the city itself, she is known for her commitment to progressive and continuous improvement, and the ability to respond and adapt when faced with unpredictable circumstances. When not at work, Thuong can be found trying to “beat the system” at all-you-can-eat buffets, attending Asian pop music shows and conventions, grinding and getting too emotionally attached in gacha games, and traveling across Asia with a motley crew of internet friends.
Riley joins LKA in the role of Administrative Coordinator. She comes to LKA with a diverse background that includes higher education and creative industries. She spent time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill performing academic administration, communications, fundraising and event planning, and human resources. Before higher education, Riley worked at an architect firm providing legal administration. Riley also spent time as a story developer for a video game start-up, creating a fantasy game.
In her free time, Riley is immersed in the sewing and knitting worlds. She loves to knit and sew her own clothes and even serves as a pattern tester and guest writer for a Portland sewing magazine, Seamwork. She is a lifelong animal lover and has three rescued cats. When she’s not at home creating, reading, or binge watching her favorite shows, you can find Riley and her partner, Will, exploring all that Oregon has to offer.
